Vita

Director and Author

Born and raised in Erlangen, I discovered my passion for school theater and the school newspaper at an early age. A few years later, I completed training as an occupational therapist, but the beauty of words and language captivated me more. I attended drama school, enjoyed my time on stage, and along the way discovered my passion for directing. My first directing projects included "Mädchen in Uniform" (2007) and "EQUUS" (2009).

I continued my education in theater pedagogy and the slightly related field of theater and drama therapy. I directed a wide range of plays from elementary school to high school and worked dramaturgically with students on their own writing. I also developed social skills concepts for middle schools. I was head of the drama department at Steps - School for Performing Arts for eight years.

As a theater and drama therapist, I worked at the Heidekreis Hospital's Day Clinic for Psychotherapy & Psychiatry from 2010 to 2015. In the therapeutic setting, it was often about bringing the patients' inner lives onto the stage and then handing them over to the direction and constructively transforming them.

In 2016, I began working at Theater Erlangen and developed various original creations with an inclusive theater ensemble until 2020. In 2018, I wrote the play "Oda still im Menschenmeer" (Oda Still in the Sea of Humans), which, after its premiere and other guest performances, earned me an invitation to the 23rd International Puppet Theater Festival and a nomination for the Fritz Wortelmann Prize of the City of Bochum.

This was followed by an assistant director and dramaturgy position at the Thalia Theater Hamburg and an acting engagement at the Comödie Fürth.

From 2017 to 2020 I worked at the Nuremberg State Theatre and realized various projects, including plays such as "The Happy Prince" and "Romeo and Juliet".

In 2021, I wrote and published the children's book "Ida and the Labyrinth of Happiness" with Bärenstark Verlag. In 2022, it was reissued in a second edition by Orange Orchard Verlag and appeared on Amazon's bestseller lists in various categories. This was followed by my second children's book, "Because You're My Best Friend," with Tolanko Media Verlag. In 2024, "Ida and the Labyrinth of Happiness" was released as an audiobook on Audible and Apple Books.

From fall 2023 to spring 2025, I lived on the Canary Island of El Hierro, where I spent an inspiring and extremely enriching year and a half.

My new book will be published in fall 2025.
